@Daojoan Philosophy won't fix your unhappiness for the same reason a mirror won't fix your face.
It just shows you the damage in high definition.

@Daojoan my parents both said they would help me as much as possible with college costs but jokingly says not if I studied economics or philosophy because they were explanatory but not prescriptive.
My father in law was a physicist - he always points out he was a practical physicist as opposed to a theoretical physicist. He reckons the former are always happier than the latter…probably because they get to use their hands in the lab.
We need theoretical and practical philosophers. What would a philosophy practitioner look like? How could they get their hands dirty?
