As for Discord, apart from them being part of the USA-based surveillance-industrial complex, their original set-up was great, as Discord was a very light web-app, but the latest versions have become so fat, that they cause browser crashes when trying to use other websites at the same time.
Using googledocs at the same time, as Discord doesn't work, so it means that they have broken the original reasons for using them... 馃う

@BillySmith @Irishmasms @mgifford @omar Now they want you to install separate (Electron-based so yikes!) apps instead of using their site and they're making it harder and harder even to find access to the site version...
Needless to say, the app has a lot more access to info in your system.
And I believe Discord has already had at least one major breech? They even collect stuff related to being able to do payments on people these days, so a lot can be breeched even if you don't give up info willingly.
Actually, Github is bad too for obvious reasons (MS + "AI") so I've closed my accounts there and on Discord long ago. As of now, I can't report bugs/etc I run into, so my contribution to a lot of projects has officially ended because there is no way to communicate with them.
