US media is having long discussions about whether it was a war crime, when the US Navy fired a second time at a civilian boat to kill everyone, after already having oblitterated the boat and some crew members.
This is a distraction. Because there are only three situations where the US is allowed to kill.
1. When at war and fighting enemy soldiers.
2. When someone is a lethal threat, e.g. a terrorist.
3. When a criminal is sentenced to the death penalty.
The Trump regime knows, none of…

This is the reason, the Trump regime is coming up with weird terms like “war on drugs” to insinuate there is a war (there is not), and “narco terrorists” to insinuate that civilians can randomly be seen as terrorists (which they cannot).
They are executing civilians who have not been sentenced to the death penalty by a judge in a court of law.
This is murder.

@randahl Trump just pardoned (or commuted the sentence of) a man who trafficked *400 TONS* of drugs into the US.
Destroying a few boats isn't a war on drugs, it's a reason to claim Venezuela should be invaded (for their oil).
Those boats would have to be refuelled 20 times before they could reach the US. They're not drug boats, and even if they were, they haven't been proven to be such. They haven't had due process. This is - as you say - murder.
Trump should be impeached for this alone.

I really, really, really want the USA to sign the Rome Statute to become a fully fledged participant in the ICC. Yeah, various USAns would be subject to prosecution. Could go on for decades. Needs to happen. The USA needs to remake itself and I think the ICC is currently humanity’s best chance at keeping world leaders accountable.
@randahl War on Drugs is decades upon decades old. Trump is terrible but his administration did not innovate in this way.
