Rebooting #StarGate is a bad idea #Amazon!

👉🏾 Prime Video's The Expanse Replacement Is Coming To Save Sci-Fi https://screenrant.com/prime-video-stargate-reboot-save-sci-fi-space-opera/

Very few reboots are successful, as they must be superior to the originals in almost every way.

#BattlestarGalactica is one of the few shows I can recall exceeding the original (the latter which was not that good).

@darnell
I really liked the original 1978 #BSG series too, but that's mainly because I was 10 years old at the time. 🤭

@darnell aw, I liked BSG, though admittedly the acting quality fell off steeply after Almos, and “frack” was endlessly grating. The Lost in Space reboot was pretty good, as family-oriented sci-fi goes, for much the same reason. A good reboot finds a new angle on the source material and makes a wholly different work of art in the flavor of the original. Andor is another example. Not a reboot exactly, but has most of the elements of one.

@darnell The original creators are the ones running the new Stargate and they've already said it's a new series in the same universe, and not a reboot. So, I'm optimistic about SG. BSG did exceed the original, for the first 2 seasons anyway.
