Good luck! In the long run, there is only one serious defense against DDoS and other attacks: federation. I’m really looking forward to @forgejo
supporting federation for repository forks and pull requests.
Once again, we are fighting with an ongoing DoS attack. We are very sorry for the disruption of the service and hope to bring the service back online soon.
@Codeberg thank you for your hard work <3 sending you good vibes and gratitude
@Codeberg do you guys need any help? I've dealt with these things for 30 years.
@Codeberg These people… 😒
@Codeberg Do you know which entities are behind these attacks?
@Codeberg Is there something we, as user, could do to help you?
@Codeberg I hope you can also find out who’s behind this attack.
@Codeberg Good luck.
I took the opportunity to reinforce my thanks with a donation.
@Codeberg No need to apologise, we're on the same side.
@Codeberg good luck, bro, i belive you!
@Codeberg it is so sad to see that all the open-source forges are struggling against bad actors with much larger resources and greedy companies with no respect for the services they crawl... sourcehut and codeberg are the future of open source communities in my opinion! we need to find some real solutions to these problems, as the people doing the attack have microsoft level of funding and no care for the users.
hang in there and thanks for your dedication!
Sending 🔋🔋🔋 to reinforce 💪
@Codeberg good luck !
@Codeberg But my Advent of Code post! 😀
Seriously, good luck sorting it and good wishes. Thank you for what you're doing.
@Codeberg when will commit links under pull requests start working?
Why are basic features still broken?
Here's example page: https://codeberg.org/atiq/illumos/pulls/1/commits
Try clicking each of the commits it will say 404 not found!!
@atiq Hey just fyi this is a really crappy and petulant thing to write in response to a post from an org announcing that they're doing their best to bring service back online while under attack.
Them (a small org, probably very stressed right now): "We're under attack, we're working on bringing service back online."
You: "Why isn't *unrelated thing* working? Exclamation mark exclamation mark!!"
Come on man...
@Codeberg big tech + right.
Any way, this is a clear sign that you are doing something "substantial"!
Keep making (bigtech + right) angry!

@Codeberg Keep up the good work.
I'd love to the see ASNs responsible. 😡
@Codeberg ❤️ Thanks for all your efforts!
@Codeberg hey there, for what it’s worth, OVHcloud has a 👌🏻 DDoS protection. Maybe you can talk to folks at Sourcehut, I believe they took advantage of it while keeping their infra separate by basically renting a server and using it as a public proxy.

Sending good vibes your way, keep up the good work you do! 💪🏻
@Codeberg thank you for keeping up the fight. I just don't understand why a nonprofit keeps coming under attack.
@Codeberg
Good luck and thanks for the awesome service. Some downtime is fine, expecting 100% uptime from any online service is not reasonable. ♥♥♥♥♥
@Codeberg
hopefully it will be again up as normal. Just wanted to push but git hangs and now I know why
@Codeberg in some year, it would not surprise me if we learn that big tech was behind some of those mysterious DDOS that happen often to their competitor.
