But nothing happened, and so 8 months have passed with Trump saying “in two weeks” we will have peace, then another two weeks, and another two weeks.

Trump and his entire administration are nothing but pure bullshitters.
The Trump regime will go down in history as the most terrible system America has ever experienced. All subsequent administrations will be busy cleaning up the mess over and over again, trying to repair at least some of the damage that was caused unnecessarily.
@randahl Traditionally Americans don't care much about foreign policy, leaders have been pretty free to do what they want. Ergo e.g. Viet Nam and Iraq.
That's not true now with Russia/Ukraine, Trump is encountering broad, fierce resistance to his Russia plan. Some other shitty Russia plan may happen, but it's not going to be this one.
@randahl Trump clearly only cares about the peace deal as far as it gives him his bragging rights. Otherwise they wouldn't just echo Russia's own terms.
