Customer walks up to the counter at the bookstore "Andrew, wow, you haven't changed"
"... I'm so sorry, I have no idea who you are"
[Long story about a thing I remember happening, that I do not remember this person being present for.]
"I remember that, I don't remember you being there."
"I was like 12"
[Oh my god, this is a *child* that I used to *baby sit*, cue internal screaming.] "Right! Oh God, how are things?"
"I just graduated college."
[*screaming intensifies*]
As time passes I am reminded pf this they might be giants song...

ten minutes go by, different person at the counter.
"Oh my god, Andrew! How's it been, it's been what, 10 years?"
"Do I know you?"
"Hold on, let me find a photo of us together."
"That sure is a photo of me and you! And it was taken ... is that my living room? Uhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
"Yeah, that was new years 2015."
"Oh! Oh shit. You're ... [Name]? You were there with ... [long pause] [Other name?] Wow, I've been following your work! You just finished [thing she just finished!] I don't think I would have recognized you under basically any circumstances, but it's great to see you!"
"Yeah! Are you still working on that film preservation project?"
[cue 15 minutes of me geeking out about #NewEllijayTelevision
"Do you keep up with any of the old crew?"
[Cue ten minutes of me explaining that most of the old crew has been living in Ellijay and running shit up here for the last 5 years]
"Jesus, it's like you've got a little cult."
Several more minutes go by, another person at the counter
"Oh my god, Andrew!"
"I ... don't know who you are, and this is the third time that's happened to be today."
"It's Alyssa!"
"Oh, yes, from the record store days! I hope you've been well."
3! 3 in one day!
3 in a matter of 45 minutes.
@ajroach42 I have five cousins. Two of them are barely younger than me, we grew up together.
The other three started to be born when I was 10. Saw quite a lot of them as a teenager, but then was too busy with Life.
Saw them at Christmas last year. The oldest one, who I remember as a tiny screaming baby all those years ago, is straight up a whole ass man now.
It's not right.
