The current US government shutdown was exposing the Republicans for wanting to destroy healthcare, while putting maximum pressure on Trump.

The longer it went on, the more certain it was, voters would vote against this regime in 2026. Because no one wants a government that does not govern.

But then 8 Democratic senators caved and voted with Republicans to help Trump get out of his mess.

Strategically, this must really be the worst move by Democrats in 2026.

@randahl so I will call Senator #Kaine (charlie brown to #MikeJohnson’s Lucy controlling the football- the resemblance is uncanny).

The question is ok how to maintain unity here on out and hold laser focus spotlight on #Lucyandthefootball.

Also publish who is and is not taking paycheck during closure and house paid holiday. I know that #Vindman is not, nor the entire New Jersey D delegation. Publish locally nationally daily what it cost for the house to do a #Stormont

@randahl If you don’t negotiate with terrorists, why would you negotiate with a “government” that has terrorized the nation and destroyed 60 years of social progress in the name of profit for the rich?

@PG19582 interesting angle, but she is forgetting that Mike Johnson will never allow a vote on this, if such a vote hurts Republicans politically.

@randahl it now has become true - it doesn't matter if you vote red or blue. Democrates are worthless. Imo even worse than republicans because they betray everything they stood for, and now they don't even stand anymore - you cannot move at all without a spine.
