This video shocked me.
YouTube is killing its own content creators by allowing accounts that illegally copies and republishes other people’s content.
Christophe Haubursin looked into this, and called up one of the copycats, who was running 6 channels and had received several YouTube awards… for stealing content from other channels.
I often spend 3-4 weeks making a video. The copycats steel them and reupload in 10 minutes. Who can compete with that?

I also had some dude steal content from me, but YouTube actually both detected it, notified me, asked what to do, and took down the content, when I asked them to.
Maybe I was lucky.

YouTube sucks.
Every once in a while I click on a link someone posts to something that seens interesting. Then I try to see THAT amids the barrage of ads and other clips. I try to just back away but it won't let me. I need to kill that window in my browser. Facebook does much the same. Snapchat too, but not quite as bad. I have come to avoid them as much as I do "X"
People are putting a lot of talent and energy into creating; too bad the platforms suck so badly from operator greed.
I think - hope! - we're headed back to a time where people turn to trusted news sources, of which you would be one. The MSM blew their opportunity to be trusted, but lots of indie media is growing.

@randahl There similar scamming ripping off in science youtube videos, as here exposed by Kyle Hill (there's a previous video, where he exposes in the details and how his footage from Chornobyl NPP was stolen by some ai gerenated content maker):
