First time leaving my house in days (because non-stop rain) for a work thing in The Hague. Lekker cycle through the rain to the station, pants are soaked, trains are cancelled once again, detour in a different train that's a full on sauna packed like sardines with my fellow peasants.
I love my job, but I can't do another winter in this country 😭 #TheNetherlands #ghetto

@Gina Complaining about the weather? Are you English? Interestingly, the Netherlands (or is it just Amsterdam?) is always shown as a car-free bike-driven transport paradise we should aspire to over this side of the Channel, but never when its pouring down...

I'm not even joking when I say that I'm willing to extend €2000 at minimum for anyone who can get me a visa sponsored job in Australia, or a half-decent paying job in southern Europe, or a remote job anywhere.
Again I LOVE my job here, and I'm so good at it, but I can't with this country 🥲
@Gina I moved from Seattle to Phoenix for the same reason - unending daily rain. Now I love rain - the 6 times a year it actually happens…

@Gina ah, is that the only reason to move to another country... to be honest, partly bc I have some flexibility in my office hours, I can count the number of rain days per year on two hands (i.e.: maybe the Randstad actually has more rain)

@Gina Would a job do that's 100% remote? Or do you prefer at least a partial on-site experience? In my company I try to employ people independent from their place of living.
@sunweaver depends on the location. I'd love to be 100% remote, but I'm also willing to come to the office if it's anywhere sunny.
@Gina We are located in Nothern Germany near #Eckernförde, so weather-wise not an improvement compared to #TheHague. But dependent on or place of living hiring for 100% remote is possible, too. Feel free to send a CV or similar.
