I showed up for the #NoKings protest here in Denver with my son, mom and her friend.
Like the previous events, I walked away with a lot of ambivalence though I'm glad I went.
This was one of my favorite signs.
Some additional thoughts threaded below...
The rally like past ones has an overwhelming "liberal boomers made at Trump" vibe that I find so limiting.
I want to see this movement evolve to be one that is much more visionary.
Compared to the last rally, this movement is moving in a direction I resonate with more.
Overall there was more energy and more younger folks.
I LOVE the trend of people showing up in inflatable frog and other animal costumes. 🐸😆

I also appreciated how this rally tied into ongoing organizing.
There were a lot more orgs tabling at the rally than the last big event.
This panel on the genocide and occupation of Palestine was powerful.
I'm really interested in plugging in with folks who want to organize more creative resistance.
There are so many ideas I have about how these large mobilizations could break out of the predictable script of rally on Saturday at the Capitol, march down 16th street mall to tepid chants of "this is what democracy looks like."
If others in the #Denver area are thinking similarly, let's talk.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I am in Europe atm but if I'd been in NYC, I doubt I would have gone. I've moved passed poo-pooing the liberals for their feeble attempts at resistance but I, too, am interested in more creative interventions at this point.
