Window orbweaver update: all quiet tonight. I felt bad for her meagre haul, so earlier today I captured a greenbottle fly, then later when she came out I carefully removed the window-screen and held the fly against the web with tweezers until she sensed and captured it. She has spent the past few hours feeding on it.

i had to break out the fancy camera to get a night shot but here is ms. window orbweaver.

approx. 12-15mm body length, maybe?

A bridge spider (Larinioides sclopetarius) just below the hub of her web, feeding on a small glistening lump that was once a fly. She is grey-brown with a damask-like leaf-shaped pattern on the top of her abdomen and a white-bordered carapace.
