I finally acquired a new traffic cone for the donkeys and presented it to them.

They fled in horror.

The human has introduced a new thing! It might be pure evil!

They’ve decided it might be safe to stand in the same room as the traffic cone, just to get out of the hot sun.

But they’re not very happy about it.

The donkeys are now back in the barn stall but both standing off the one side, as far from the orange traffic cone in the middle of the floor as they can. Their ears are slightly back in evident irritation that they are being asked to share their small barn stall with a stranger. “Oh, if we must! But it better stay over there!”
