Update: I reached out to the Wordcamp Verona team using their contact form, mentioned the Fediverse, how great it would be if they created an account here... and I included my video (in Italian) as an introduction.
I just heard back from one of the organizers that "she never heard about the fediverse but is happy to look into it and watch my video soon."

@_elena Wonderful! And know that many baby steps by many people out there result in a very loud and positive stampede 😊 We are many, not just a few :)

Missing fediverse link in a site don't surprise me for a lot reason (people are lazy, no one think about fediverse etc...). Try to contact them

@_elena feel that. I missed a call for presentation at a conference in November too, because it was only announced on Instagram. Not even by email. 🙄

Have you tried to reach out to the organisers by other means/inofficial channels?
From my experience, submission deadlines are not always set in stone and good proposals can always be squeezed in. :)

Quello che fa la parte org è un seguire le mode. Automattic ha donato centinaia di migliaia di dollari a Matrix per sostituire Slack, che come saprai è l'alternativa del fediverso eppure dopo ancora anni è tutto come se non fosse successo.
Inoltre se vedi chi contribuisce in un modo nell'altro nel mondo wordpress dai programmatori al resto lato open source non contribuisce altrove per il 95%.
