Why does Mastodon not have even an attempt at nuclear block? Someone can just reply to you, block you, then your server will diligently stop you from viewing their posts but everyone else still can in your replies, even if you block them back (if you manage to notice)??
Even Twitter does better than this (the above was an active abuse tactic on Twitter years back and they fixed it). I get that with federation it's tricky to fully nuke a reply, but at least your local instance should be able to hide replies of blocked users from everyone else local and from queries for context from other instances??
