In the apartment complex where I grew up, we (well, the older kids, not me) built a tree fort. I remember it mostly because when it was being built by the older kids, a hammer fell out of the grasp of one of them and hit me on the head as I was standing around at the base of the tree, and I blacked out for a bit. I'm fine (I think). That tree fort lasted for years, serving a few waves of cohorts of kids a place to escape to.
