That tells you something about the size of the Hard Fork and Search Engine audience. Maybe also something about the fact that IndieWeb people are more likely to roll their own, if they can, than join a service run by someone else ; )

@strypey @Casey I think it also shows the model of podcasting and Youtube major communities don't need to be as dependent on the big tech platforms as intermediaries to their fans, and instead can "build their own" communities on the open social web, not "rent them" from platforms that can change on a whim, disrupting those relationships with creators most important audiences.
@Casey have you experienced the sudden urge to invade our privacy and sell ads on the feed yet? Apparently its an inevitability. Let us know when it hits.

@Casey The level of engagement and general 'sense of community' is really quite impressive. There's also a lot of mechanisms creating 'mastodon-wide' links and certain apps also seem to be able to do this on the fedi level (like Tuba on Linux).
