How are you may feel about Jesus and what he had to say. Let it be known that biblical scholars oh so very clearly state that the Bible broadly accepts slavery as a matter, of course.
Those that are the faithful would say that slavery is not what Jesus expressed from what I know I would agree, but the fact remains that the Bible embraces slavery

I listen to academic scholars on the Bible.
These are the people who who know the ancient Greek, who know the ancient Hebrew, who know the legal context of antiquity. That the Bible refers to slavery as something that is unremarkable, which is to say part of normal existence is everywhere in the Old Testament
