BirdChan screenshot from Durham Regional Police: Officers responded to an armed person call in the area of Simcoe St S and Wentworth St E in Oshawa. During the interaction, an officer and the suspect were shot. The officer has been transported to a Toronto area trauma centre in critical but stable condition.  The suspect was transported to a local hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries. S/Sgt. McCabe will be providing an update at the scene. Time and location will be provided shortly. Neglects to mention that he was shot by another cop.

“There was an interaction, and one officer discharged their firearm multiple times. The man was struck as was a police officer.” The police watchdog confirmed that both the officer and the man were transported to the hospital treatment and are now both in stable condition. It is also also saying that at this time it does not appear that the man had a firearm.
