@MakersHour Q2: Inspiring crafts seen in films

A2: Well I see we're back on the "everyone just reply on the main post" method for #MakersHour but I'll know for next time 馃槄

Anyway. Not in a film as such but I remember seeing the behind the scenes stuff from the LotR trilogy for the first time and the care and expertise that went into making everything from miniatures to armour to realistic giant trees. Made me realise something in that area might be the closest thing I ever had to a "dream job" but of course by then it was already too late. Still inspiring, though!

@MakersHour Q3: What would you be making as an extra in the bg?

A3: Well let's think.

As an extra, I would be hoping to prove my acting chops to secure a bigger part. So it would need to be something that didn't take much concentration, to allow me to express dramatic emotions rather than tongue-stuck-out concentration face. But also something that, if dropped to convey shock or horror, wouldn't be difficult to pick back up again.

So I'm going with simple stockinette hat in the round. Or possibly a slipper sock.

@MakersHour Q4: Example of my craft being wrong on screen?

A4: Like, basically any time anyone is knitting or crocheting on screen. And bonus points if they're "crocheting" with needles (or vice versa), it's actually ridiculous given how common they are as skills.

@thegiddystitcher @MakersHour in fact, it's easier for me to list shows and movies that get knitting right!
