@TheBreadmonkey I hear that. I recently ended a friendship with someone who went completely off the deep end and became Political Voice 24/7. It wasn't for clout, which is even worse, but I had to sever ties to protect my sanity and my values.
I've got one I've limited contact with because he's furious all of the time and his politics have shifted and don't totally align with mine (which I try to be cool about). I can see where he's coming from, even though we're not on the same page, but it's also not something that I want to base an entire relationship on. I've got the Internet.
@TheBreadmonkey Yeah, life is also wonderous and it's fun to share all the amazing things that are everywhere and make life worth living- everything from art to wildlife, literature, science, storytelling, moss, fungus, undersea worms, the cosmos- it can't all be Palestine, Trump, Putin, war, disease, famine, murder.

That's not strictly true. I have nearly a hundred words and phrases in my filters now. I occasionally deactivate just to see what it's like and it's..... not good.
