Some people really get on my nerves. Like I know they're probably OK but the sort of performative anger at global events and the finger wagging at everyone. Just feels like a clout play.

HAS ANYONE ACTUALLY NOTICED POLITICS AND STUFF LATELY IT IS BAD WHOS WITH ME ALSO WHO LIKES PIZZA

I suppose that is engagement for people who aren't clinically insane. But are they just furious all of the time? I feel like this is the polarisation - the online algorithmic echochamber we talk about. Have a day off dude. That doesn't need to be your whole brand. Enjoy some fruit. Smell the trees. Take in a show. Find a body of water and jump into it. Call an old friend. Make love to yourself under the moonlight. Make something with gravy then have too much gravy. Write your memoirs. Scare a goose. Straighten your hair and howl at a stranger. Learn how to do a backflip. Chant an ancient curse and summon the End Times. Grapple a boa constrictor. Burn all of your clothes. See how far you can throw a pineapple. Grieve the loss of your childhood innocence. Raise cattle from foals and then when fully reared release them into the wild. Become a famous weather presenter. Jump a motorcycle over 14 buses. Macrame an indoor plant hanger. Submit a winning entry to a book competition. Undergo extensive plastic surgery then run away to live in the forests of Paraguay. Enter and triumph at a Chris De Burgh lookalike contest. Never eat bread again. Evolve gills and live underwater. Bio-engineer a dragon. Recreate the Sistene Chapel in a Wetherspoons. I could go on.

But of course, my #most photographed and also coincidentally a quite speckly bird, is this bird, specifically. #BirdOfTheDay 📷🌿🪶

A close-up photo of the head and upper body of a northern flicker (Colaptes auratus), a sleek taupe-colored woodpecker with a gray head and a long dark gray beak, dark eyes, bright red cheek patches, black barring across its back and wings, a large black chevron on its chest, black polka dots all over its belly, and a red spot on the back of its head. It has some white specks of suet on the end of its beak and is facing toward the right of frame with an alert expression, its head tilted up slightly. The light is soft and diffuse, and the background is out of focus greenery.
