It is incredible to me that the Democrats in the House and Senate are not collectively and systematically calling for Trump’s impeachment and removal over his actions toward Venezuela and his threats against Denmark/Greenland. I don’t give a fig that they don’t have the votes to make this happen. They should be spelling out the case for it regardless.
We so desperately need new Democratic leadership in the House and Senate. We need a serious opposition party.
@heidilifeldman They are calling for impeachment. Articles of Impeachment were formally filed as recently as mid-December, and 140 House members voted to advance. With a Republican Speaker of the House, Democrats get limited opportunities to bring it up for debate, much less a vote.
@heidilifeldman why are they not determinedly making the fact that Trump is clearly mentally incapable a talking point of its own? Seems like a very loud and unideological drum to bang. How can you project strength, like Stephen Miller wants, with a senile head of state? Reclaim all the Sleepy Joe stuff and use it for good.
I would prefer to see an "opposition" population standing up to recent developments.
Maybe 5-10,000 people in politics, +800 US billionaires.

It's either complicity or cowardice from them, and both are unacceptable.
I do hope enough are willing to push them aside and be the opposition the US so desperately needs!
When he first took office they should have had a daily press conference debunking any lies told in the last 24 hours.
Could even use Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert or someone like that to make it entertaining but it should have been there from the first lie.
@heidilifeldman this is why I feel like I’m “barking into the wind” & no one hears me when I keep calling my (unfortunately all democrat) representatives… so I think I’m gonna change tactics… I discussed this earlier on mastodon, & it seems like “calling your own representatives” is just a courtesy thing… so if enough of us look up different zip codes & call AS MANY AS YOU CAN … maybe we can light up the switch board enough to make it a problem for them
