Okay, it is that time of year again where I look for a Goodreads replacement 馃摎. Would love if it worked on atproto. I need organizing (shelves, lists, or tags), progress tracking (pages, %), the ability to post chapter notes, and cross-posting to Micro.blog/Bsky/Mastodon. Send me your reccos!

@chadkoh
On the #Fediverse, the most likely solution would be #bookwyrmsocial, https://joinbookwyrm.com/ but there isn't any link inside it to the #atproto . Nevertheless, there is now a reliable Fediverse's software natively integrating both protocols: #Wafrn, https://wafrn.net/. The ideal solution would be to let micro.blog, Wafrn and Bookwyrm work together to build a global integrated tool. We can dream about it but I haven't seen any announcement about that yet.

@nelfan interesting, I hadn鈥檛 seen WAFRN before.

I have been using Bookwyrm for a couple of years now, but it isn鈥檛 a great progress tracker.

Right now I am testing Hardcover. It is completely separate, just a rails app, but the dev is very open and community driven. They are working towards open sourcing and already have lots of data export capability. Trying it out for a month.

@chadkoh I've been mostly happy with TheStoryGraph as a goodreads replacement, but I don't know if it meets your needs. I suspect not.

@kboyd I used it for about a year a while back. It seems really good for recommendations, but I am more into progress tracking and book blogging. Will look again now that I am getting a better sense of my requirements. Thanks for the reminder! 馃

@chadkoh

LibraryThing? Not atproto, but it's been around for a long time and appears stable

@richpuchalsky used it for a while a few years back. Will take another look as I have a better idea of my requirements. Thanks for the recco!
