@EUCommission Fuck this simplicity!!! We need protection from "ai" and those stupid American Big tech companies!
You want to change #GDPR? Put it to a vote. We have the right to decide our privacy rights.
If we are stupid enough that we fall for it, shame on us but it should not be taken away without our consent. The same goes for #ChatControl
@EUCommission Shame on you.
Try substituting the word 'innovation' for 'money making' and this becomes clearer.
That you're blindly repeating the myth that there is a dichotomy between fundamental rights compliance and innovation is outdated and incorrect.
Europe is better because of its values. You should know that and stand up for those values. #GDPR
@EUCommission What AI innovation require to simplify the rules ? Training an LLMs on copyrighted data or private personal information is not an innovation. Instead we need to raise the bar to ensure AI company don't abuse any of our digital rights.
@EUCommission I truly hope that #nerdvote will go European at the next elections. It's very much needed.
For now I urge you to stop eroding the fundamental rights of your citizens. You should be protecting them, instead of facilitating Big Tech.
@EUCommission
The GDPR as is is fine!
If anything, enforce it better. Punish every single publisher pushing a "subscribe or accept cookies" model. Impose a clear, simple format for cookie banners, eg prohibiting making big, bright green buttons for accepting cookies and tiny, little, almost invisible ones to reject them. Or prohibit making infinite cookie banners where we have to deselect dozens of single entries to turn down every single cookie. Promote sustainable online advertising based on likely interest (eg show me ads for vacuum cleaners on a vacuum cleaner review website) instead of cookies tracking when I go take a dump in order to present me toilet paper ads.
Noone wants this creepy surveillance, for god's sake.
Not even you. No wonder you'd exempt yourselves from any form of chat control.
@EUCommission
My desire to save businesses 5bn is nil. My desire to ever hear of LLM again is less.
@EUCommission No tenéis vergüenza. Nos tomáis por imbéciles. // You have no shame. You take us for fools.
@EUCommission Save money and simplify rules for whom? Trillion dollars US companies??? Let them suffer.
@EUCommission Innovation means, among other things: Students getting their degrees without actually working on them using Ai that was trained in their professors’ published work without consent. And instead of stopping this on its tracks now, you open the gates. Specially dangerous in healthcare professions. But you know what’s best for us, right?
@EUCommission simplified rules for AI => just "No AI." That's that simple.
@EUCommission we don't need all that AI "innovation", and definitely not at the expense of the rights of the EU citizens. This is a very bad move.
@EUCommission I hope that means no more cookie banners, no more tracking, stricter rules on genAI and a plan to create decentralised alternatives to the FAANG.
(it doesn't)
@EUCommission
Are you kidding us? You are demolishing our digital rights and have the audacity to try and sell it back to us as a nice little improvement? A mere simplification?!
Has it become too hard for you to advocate for people's rights? Our rights? Does putting businesses over people and caving in to corporate greed make everything SIMPLER for you? Is that the simplification you are really talking about?
Well, let me tell you, we won't SIMPLY forget that! We will vote again some day.
@EUCommission So you balanced people's rights over AI companies rights, didn't you? Damn, it would be a horrible lack of EU citizens' protection even if this would foster European companies, but we don't have anything like Anthropic, OpenAi, and so on.
You are just gifting our personal data to foreign companies.
Oh yes, we can ask afterwards what the hell they did with our data, but this is not what GDPR was born for.
You are betraying your citizens and, by the way, weakening the EU itself.
@EUCommission
So, I can say "no" one time and stop getting pressured by every fucking website to dick around with a stupid and pointless permission interface?
This whole thing is pointless if I have to repeat my request to be left alone on every single page.
@EUCommission Gut the AI directive and GDPR, why don't you. Stop #ChatControl . Stop the #Omnibus
@EUCommission we don't want you to wreck the GDPR https://noyb.eu/en/eu-commission-about-wreck-core-principles-gdpr
@EUCommission Nice looking biscuit, but I’m not swallowing it.
You're as dishonest, reckless, authoritarian and criminal as Putin, Thiel, Trump, Zuckerberg et al, and you will be personally be held to account for your crimes.
@EUCommission innovation must never be at citizens privacy expense. Relaxing the control over big-tech maneuvers is not a benefit for the EU people, but for the companies, specially US companies. Once the damage is done, can’t be undone.
@EUCommission we don't want to bust IA BUT to stop it!!!
We need to have more rights, no less!
@EUCommission Soooo, you're going to take the chocolate out of our delicious cookies and call that a progress, right?
At least the picture clearly depicts how little you care for #EU citizens, preferring big money from big companies.
Can we instead strengthen our GDPR privacy rights by more rigorous enforcing, rather to mostly abolish it by caving in to corporate interests?
@EUCommission don't do this.
@EUCommission 👎🏼 a bad day for privacy…
@EUCommission Now this is a very big bullshit.
@EUCommission removing rights to privacy is simpler? Then let us not save those 5 bn.
@EUCommission I just wanted to congratulate for you being so simple.
@EUCommission The GDPR is the only protection we have left since your killing spree on digital human rights (PrivacyShield, ProtectEU, DTA, ChatControl, DigitalID, etc.)
What about you ask your actual tech companies (Proton, Tuta, Mistral, etc.), experts (EDRI, cryptography & security professors, etc.) and citizens what they want?
Nobody except Big Tech and Spyware companies (and you) want to kill the GDPR. If you respect basic privacy hygiene, GDPR is never a burden to your company
@EUCommission
"Simplicity is on Europe’s digital menu 🍪"
Did you mean "Fascism is on Europe's digital menu" ?
Just remember where comes from AI.
@EUCommission The image alone is such a disgraceful communication choice. You are leaning on the misinformation narrative that the EU has some "cookie banner law" forcing everyone to go through unnecessary hoops and red tape for no gain, while in reality that's just the data brokers' choice to engage in malicious compliance (already ruled illegal) and trick everyone else into doing the same.
@EUCommission
At least the picture is pretty accurate. The cookies I chose to feed my browser are nothing like the ones the corporate overlords keep shoving down its throat.
Let us rephrase that correctly: EU is about to destroy the GDPR and give all european citizen personal data to private companies for free.
EU is about to let the citizen protection go.
Shame on EU.
@EUCommission are you going to loosen GDPR yes or no?
Taking Europeans for simplistic fools is on your digital menu.
»The European Commission has pulled this #GDPR reform out of a hat despite the fact that most #EU Member States had explicitly asked to not reopen the GDPR. In addition, leaked texts last week generated strong opposition by the Center and Left groups of the European Parliament (S&D, Renew and Greens) who explicitly called upon the Commission to stop these massive cuts to the GDPR. Furthermore, 127 civil society organisations (including noyb) heavily criticised the Comission’s unexpected foray and leaked text.«

@EUCommission This is putting European values by the trash, and bending over for US tech fascists. Shame!
@EUCommission How low we fall.
We really are the United States lap dog. 😔
@EUCommission I'd rather like to see rules that prevent shady business to use my personal data
@EUCommission Fuck this simplicity!!! We need protection from "ai" and those stupid American Big tech companies!
You want simplicity? How about this simple solution: you 100% absolutely and fully prohibit any citizen's private data being fed to any #AI whatsoever under any circumstances. Can't get much simpler, no?
Can we put it on referendum to see which percentage of #EU citizens would prefer that form of simplicity over your idea of "let's simply abolish last remains of privacy rights EU citizens still have so greedy companies will be able to bribe us better"?
"If the Commission devoted the same energy to enforcing digital laws as it does to gutting them, we wouldn’t be debating simplification. Europe’s rulebook doesn’t need a facelift. It needs a backbone."
https://edri.org/our-work/commissions-digital-omnibus-is-a-major-rollback-of-eu-digital-protections/
@EUCommission Yeah, not buying that one. Try again.
@EUCommission We do not need AI leadership, in fact we need the exact opposite: protection from AI and a guarantee that our data won't be fodder for Silicon Valley. This is a sad, shameful and objectively bad strategy.
@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu You simplify nothing. You just eradicate privacy in Europe. And worse, for false marketing assertions for a fascist technology…
@EUCommission Wrong approach.
@EUCommission TL;DR: "We sacrificed your digital rights to King Trump and his Big Tech Bros. Suck it up, Europeans."
@EUCommission You’re giving a green light to corporations to use our sensitive data, like e.g. health data for data mining. You’re also set on bringing back chat control through the backdoor, and you’re significantly weakening the GDPR. That’s not a win. That’s cow towing to the tech fascists.
@EUCommission innovation of course being locked away by those horrid regulations
@EUCommission You're not simplifying, you're destroying some the basic principles of the GDPR. As many experts already stated.
@EUCommission are these the watered down privacy rules that will profit American companies?
@EUCommission
"Cut red tape", AKA let the american megacorps do whatever they want with Europe
@EUCommission "we killed privacy rights for our citizens because AI warriors asked us to"
Fixed it for you
@EUCommission simpler rules for the people a.k.a. consumers?
Are we finally allowed to say: "No!" ?
@EUCommission Maybe you should stop working for some business and start working for people for a change.
@EUCommission ahahahaha
ahahahahahhahaha
ahahahaha
Sacré Hubert.
@EUCommission how many bribe did you take to undermine our right ?
Also i've read the proposal, so don't lie about it
edited : typo
@EUCommission
ugh, I'd rather you just banned this LLM bullshit entirely
