@Gina do you actually get any value out of being on there? I have an account to 'make up the numbers' / 'be discoverable' because I have a senior job, but simply never log in.

@Gina why doesn't the AI and Cloud strategy consultant ask his beloved -planet destroying- tech?
In his case, it stands for "Oh Seriously? Piss Off."
@Gina
LinkedIn is a joke.
@Gina LOL he couldn't event have a strategy to ask AI about it? 😉 🤪
@Gina It's unbelievable how people can't do a simple online search anymore.
The day I get to delete Linkedin will be the best day of my life.
@Gina This day is approaching for me as well.
@Gina idem, looking forward to my retirement day... still many years ahead
@Gina You gotta print that out and tape it to the wall 😂
I didn't have such experiences.
But earlier this year I left anyway, a little sad.
@Gina I had two accounts and what a joy it was to delete them both, once I'd worked out how.
Oh and I can't resist the mandatory Bill Bailey clip: https://youtu.be/V7d79Knc8p4?t=239 ("the baffling longevity of Linkedin") - but I highly recommend the whole 5 minutes for context.
@Gina Didn't have to delete mine: LinkedIn disabled it for me half a year ago. They want a scan of my passport to re-enable it.
No way I'm sending that.. and I haven't exactly missed it, so: good riddance.
@ives Oh I remember that non-sense, but I never did it. Haven't 'verified' my account either, and so far it seems fine.
@Gina The trick to this is never having created an account
@Gina
I set up an account and haven't looked at it in maybe a decade. Thank you for reaffirming my life choices.
@Gina my life goal tbh
@Gina oh yeah. I “have” to be on it for work but I really do hate it so much.

I'm much the same. I have a #linkedin account, but never use it. I keep it in case I lose my job, but this trade is so ageist that I'd be unlikely to find another job ever again.
The day I delete my LinkedIn account will be the day I finally retire.
@Gina It's a classic example of how the userbase has totally destroyed the original purpose of the platform. It was never meant to be a social media outlet or even a sales tool for that matter. It was supposed to be a way for people and employers to build connections.
I have yet to recieve a connection request that isn't from someone trying to sell me something. They don't even understand the differeance between a personal and business account!
@Gina noodzakelijk kwaad 😩
