I've long wished for a kind of widget space in #Gnome. Since the new virtual desktops are created to the right I've thought that this could be on a special "widget desktop" one step to the left – like how newer Android (or at least some versions of it) has a news feed to the left.

But then, of course it's hard to navigate to. Being able to slide it up from below from any desktop you're on, I think could be extremely useful.

Weather, note pads, news feeds. Anyone could create new widgets...

But mostly I guess my biggest annoyance with #Gnome right now (which speaks to how mostly fantastic it is), is that there's no direct way of easily getting back to files and folders you're working with these days. I often have different projects at different times, so I want fast access to folders X, Y, Z for a period and then folder Æ, Ø, Å at a later period, etc, and also just to any recently used file. Now you have to go trough Nautilus to do this. Undermines the usefulness of the Overview.
