I think Arne Slot and our team have earned more than sufficient credit with last season's breakthrough. The months intervening since then have been brutal. What the manager and the team need is less pressure, not more of it, and then the results will present themselves naturally.

I'm not expecting us to be at the top of three competitions anymore, but there is still time to recover and win the league again, or at the very least a fourth place finish. This time, too, will pass.

@vruz Absolutely. I think the majority of #LFC fans understand the problems and support the manager and players for as long as it takes (this season anyway). The media love to see Liverpool struggle and make up stories about the club - I rarely take notice of anything they write/report. #YNWA

@vruz Well said. I feel similarly, for so many reasons.

@mlawton I'm also proudly verifying that the Torygraph have stated the diametrically opposite sentiment today.

Therefore, we are doing fine.

@vruz fanning the flames because it's easy.

I take his point about Slot's messaging with the media, but the arguments he leverages to make it are heavily spun, such as choosing total spend for squad strength rather than net spend. Selling players to reduce costs means you have... fewer players.

Unlike his counterpoint in Chelsea. I utterly reject them as a model, having recently collected more players than lockers, escaped FFP trouble shadily, and are still in jeopardy with UEFA. 🙃

@mlawton Some media outlets just love the largesse and excess of nation-state/financial-group procured revenue.

They'd rather it land somewhere they can find it.
