I wish I could share directly the patterns us disabled.social mods have noticed, but if we do that directly in a fediblock post, the patterns tend to change. So he's following these fediblock posts for sure.

This is why I think those working to stop this nonsense of his may need to start talking with one another in a more private way in order to discuss other possible ways to cease his ability to interact with his targets.

#fediblock

Disabled.social has reluctantly chosen to block gaygeek.social for the following reasons:

1. Lack of moderation and open signups have allowed ableist and transphobic accounts to appear there
2. Numerous accounts impersonating our members has appeared there with little done by admin to stop the flood

If the admin team shows they are willing to moderate and adjust away from open-signup, then we will revisit the block and determine if we can open connection again.

For us targeted:

1. Go into your Public Profile Settings
2. Look for Reach section.
3. Uncheck box that allows for follow requests to be automatically approved.

Yes, this will create a queue to examine, but anyone suspended gets kicked off the queue. It can limit mass follows from harassers to some degree.

Another good box to uncheck is under "Privacy" regarding who sees your follower list.

We're working on back-end stuff to stop this, but in the meantime, this can help.

#Disabled

Screenshot of Mastodon Preferences Menu. It shows the Public Profile Preferences under Privacy and Reach. There's a violet arrow pointed to "Automatically accept new follows" box, and another arrow by the "Show follows and followers on profile" box. Both boxes are unchecked.
