Ezra Klein is the New York Times in a nutshell. He embodies what NYT has long been, a force arrayed the progressive wing of the Democratic party while the most outré and dangerous fascist developments of the Republican party are normalized by NYT.

NYT has a long, sordid history of allowing privileged people, notably straight white males like Klein, to speak on behalf of minority communities that are not allowed to speak in their own voice. We're seeing this arrogance — and, frankly, cruelty — on display all over again in how NYT deals with trans people.'
Klein is doing what NY Times does and has long done, professing all the while to be a "liberal" outlet.
