European Commission

Shaping Europe's future, with a bold and ambitious pathway already paved.

On 10 September, President von der Leyen will deliver her State of the European Union address in the European Parliament. This is a key moment for EU democracy.

This is where the President assesses progress, sets priorities are set, and defines the next steps to make sure the EU meets the expectations of Europeans.

It’s about your Europe, your future.

See how far we have come on our pathway 👉 https://europa.eu/!8WtBy3

@EUCommission then maybe she can then explain how the Orwellian chat control proposal fits in an open ddmocracy that values liberty and how this would meet expectations of EU citizens...(news flash: it doesn't: more than 2/3 of the European population is AGAINST, so drop this illiberal, dangerous idea or admit honestly that freedom only means something to you on paper)

@EUCommission then let's not build a dystopian surveillance system, like currently planned and supported by 15 EU member states with the "Chat control" proposal. It would be great for a dictatorship, but I don't want to live in a dictatorship, I want to live in a free, democratic Europe, so we must throw this law away.

@EUCommission Hopefully she is going to tell us that chatcontrol isn't aligning with the European values, and is just a stupid joke :)

@EUCommission givibg in to trump and his dictatorsip is not what you think it is. Eu needs people who are string. Not the weak ones who just lay down and roll over. Food with pesticides, non reversible climatechange, cars that are taller then humans on the streets are not goid things.

President von der Leyen is guilty of complicity in genocide. She does not speak for us.

There can be no talk of European democracy when its institutions are actively complicit in arming and profiting from this ongoing terror.

The EU still retains normal relations with Israel (in stark contrast with Russia) when Israel is clearly breaking all human rights obligations in EU/Israel trade agreements.

@EUCommission The priority is Trump’s boot, you made that clear earlier this summer. You let us down on taking on the genocide on Gaza too. What else? Oh, yeah, borders, we’re more racist now than ever.

20 years ago we believed on the future of the EU, now we have a clear image of what it is really like.

@EUCommission

The state of the Union is, literally, that it tells me to "discover" why I should even bother listening to lectures from a conceited and pompous ego that is selling out everything that Europe could ever be to Trump and Netanyahu.

Thanks, no.

@EUCommission Stop bending the knee to dictator Trump then and finally regulate the tech giants. Force them out of the market if they won't comply!
