A lot of joggers and hikers passed me while I was crouched down taking photos on the ground. I was thinking how funny it was that nobody ever stops to ask what I'm looking at. But then a man stopped and asked me and my son what we were looking at. We were looking at this. He chatted with us for a good ten minutes about mushrooms and ducks and turtles. Nice guy.

A pretty Amanita.
#mushroom#Amanita

Looking down at the same mushroom. It's more orange in the center, turning to yellow at the edges. You can see the gill structure.

There were enormous mushrooms
#mushrooms

The same mushrooms seen from the top. They have scalloped shapes, with beige and brown concentric rings

And there were tiny mushrooms

More tiny mushrooms, slender stems and white caps, growing amongst moss and leaf litter
