We may bomb the crap out of your shit tier government but I can absolutely promise you that we're not doing that to help you, and you are not gonna like the price of the bargain once the bill comes due - people just like you in Afghanistan, Iraq, all over Latin America have learned that the hard way. I ain't out here to tell you how to feel about your leaders, but I can promise you MY leaders mean you fucking harm son.
We just, we don't fix things mate. We don't. Everywhere we go we bring slavery, death, and violence. I'm labor class, I know there ain't a government on earth that gives a fuck about the people and that includes the ones that claim to be very left wing. But at the end of the day it's like trying to treat a headache by sawing your foot off - one is not related to the other. America will never help you. We only come to pillage and we'll use your struggle as an excuse to do that.

I am not really a Torah or Bible person, but I did look this one up. I think the next line after the part in the song is the big about wanting to take the children of our enemies and dash their heads against the rocks
Which put a whole 'nother perspective on the song for me. One many people would have been familiar with, and would be hearing unspoken

It makes sense, I think. OBS control, model expressions & toggles, Stream Deck mappings & events, audio mixing and control, HDMI matrix routing, even things like scraping YT sub count, stream control, and the YT chat feed. All those map quite nicely to the MQTT data/message model.
And mosquitto already has a WebSocket listener, so I don't need to write a backend at all. No database, no backend. Just various scripts and glue layers, and a web frontend, all talking to the MQTT server I already have running anyway.
It also solves the HA integration issue, because I have stuff (like putting machines/monitors to sleep when we hit the light switch in the office) that HA needs to handle, but also streaming is involved (disabling that during a stream to avoid accidents). If everything is in MQTT it's easy...

You just gave me the solution to a problem I had!
I'm pulling in data from sensors through mqtt to an app that saves it in a database. Now I want to show the analyzed data on a webpage. I was poking around with opening ports, separate threads to ensure db access consistency and other faff.
But I can just publish that data through mqtt instead. Much easier!

@arstechnica unfortunately similar companies are popping up and filling the void. I’m glad the cancellations are happening but we need privacy laws that limit local governments and companies from spying on us in the first place.
