Remember that the same techniques we learned in the early months of the (ongoing, I know) Covid epidemic work as well to clear your air of smoke particles as virus particles.
A cheap box fan plus any no-name MERV12 to 14 furnace filters can be duct taped into an effective clean air filtration system for under $100 CAD.
If you happen to own a home with central air ductwork, check and replace your filters. MERV14 is plenty, too much higher will strain the hardware.

What a very long day. You can see how easy it is to get swept along in work flotsam. That feeling of stress and/or pressure that comes from WHAT IF THE THING ISN'T DONE ON TIME or YOU HAVEN'T USED THE SYSTEM PROPERLY allowing your inputs to be turned into data points to be TRACKED. Chill out everyone I'm worth about 5 people on my worst day. Now give me a goddamned kiss and make me a sandwich and prepare my phone. I'm going in.

As a society, we've just... given up. And the reason is very clear: concentration of wealth. When we see people who are millions of times as wealthy as we are who obviously haven't contributed millions of times as much as we have, we naturally and rightly ask why we should bother doing any more than we have to to avoid getting fired.
Like, I *could* try getting promoted, but to get promoted I have to *already* be working at the next level, and it's not like I can claw that effort back if I work hard and don't get promoted.
Now multiply this by everyone, and you have what our society has become: moribund.
There is nothing on the horizon that's going to change this. It doesn't matter who we elect next, no matter how many elections pass. The west is over the hill and on the way out.
Well, there IS something on the horizon: war. Civil war, world war, doesn't matter. But long, slow, decline, war, or some other catastrophe are the only things that are likely to happen. There's no amount of plausible policy change that's going to fix this, because it didn't happen in the first place due to policy change. It happened due to an accidental confluence of circumstances after a world war.
