@TheBreadmonkey Been there, done that
NO Matt Hancock. BAD Matt Hancock.
@cas @womble @eigen @mhoye I am willing to give them a chance on technical matters.
I am not willing to look the other way while they make social/political decisions for their projects that align with an ongoing worldwide slide into fascism without even questioning them or seeking community feedback.
Now on the M5 Max MacBook Pro. Gemma 4 31B is soooo fast!
100% with you. There is no right or wrong. Any software project has the right to implement their app in whatever way they want. With FOSS by default there cannot be any other expectation that that you get code + an open license.
When an open standard and its extension mechanism are of good quality, it would mean these projects sideline themself. Choosing to be non-compliant.
The standardization process that evolves the protocol within the technology ecosystem, and all the people involved with that are collectively responsible for technology direction. As well as to an extent socio-technical and socio-cultural aspects.
Funnily enough just after this photo i decided it was annoying me so went and got it all cut off! Lol. My hair is actually quite wavy - I used to have it long, years ago, but I would just never have the patience for it now.
Edit - of *course* I've already posted this photo 🙄
@TheBreadmonkey OMG whaaaaat! This is such a great photo, and I've never seen it!

@garythewilliams @awfulwoman @milperks @Edent so, what distros are we all going with (mine lands shortly, not-as-discounted-as-expected)

I'm using Nix. All seems to work. There's a Gnome plugin for rotation.
I haven't got tablet mode working properly yet.
I also tried Pop which worked with the hardware.
#Deepfakes are everywhere, but #DigitalForensics investigators are fighting back:
@FabMusacchio thanks for reposting, these are great tips to help spot fakes:) it's getting incredibly hard, if not impossible lately: (
#Etholiad26 nice to see a short queue of people at 8am. People from all walks of life having their say, it's a powerful moment
I usually do a postal vote but this felt much more symbolic.
Wow the #Etholiad26 hashtag is going crazy today 😂
Gosh this was a (recent) first-hand lived experience.
I'm dismayed it's more prevalent than I hoped.

Other things about my day:
Negatives:
- I've been up since 5:30am
- Been shouted at in the street and called a terrorist
- Knocked on the door of a man so creepy I had to run away
Positives:
- So many people voting Green
- All the cool kids are voting Green
- We've got a shit tonne of volunteers
- We exist and are fighting for change and the soul of this country

Travel nerds. Can anyone recommend a good inflatable neck pillow? I got a cheap one but it's not very comfortable, too much at the back of the neck puts you in a weird posture.
@quixoticgeek I have never found a good inflatable one, but I like the ones that roll up into little conman rolls when not in use, and velcro around your neck for stability.
