@strypey Yes but that only helps funding development of that very piece of software. It won't help anything about, in example, relevant contacts all of a sudden just quietly not seeing my posts anymore because their server software received an upgrade and now is subtly incompatible with mine, breaking federation. It also doesn't help against quite a share of contacts being offline literally overnight as one instance just goes down and stays off for days maybe weeks without me even noticing (until by chance news makes it around). I admire the idea of open protocols, here, but at times the Fediverse feels way less like a community and way more like peak individualist technology, where not just no one cares or is willing to take responsibility for the thing as a whole to work more or less well and reliable for a vast majority of people, it's also built on protocols and technologies that mostly ignore decades of prior art (considering just the kind of transfer error handling and communication in e-mail protocols) that work against making this reliably function as a whole. And I have no way to donate money, resources, energy to "The Fediverse" as a whole to address these issues. This feels the more bad the more servers, systems, instances pop up but also the more non-technical users are trying to make themselves home here. 😔

Apparently a team of Air Marshalls was assigned to watch him in flight and attempt to shoulder surf any passwords he entered en route.
