Re-boosting this now that xAI is being taken to court by victims whose images have been used for training and they've got proof they're keeping them in their training set.

This isn't just Grok, it's just the worst of them because they decided it was OK to have pedophiles for customers.

This is all image generators. No wonder they don't disclose what's in their training sets. They don't care how many times they're going to re-victimize a survivor as long as they can profit from it.

@wonderfox_floof Yeah, but imagine having every single user of your app going through the entire procedure. That's probably gonna cut down your user base by a factor of a 1000 if you're talking causal users. Most will be scared by the "are you sure you want to burn your house down?" warnings. Sure, people who are in the know will survive, but there's multiple issues:
1. Google can tighten this slipknot further at any time if we give them any foot hold.
2. Other corporations will follow suit.

Except there still will be moderation issues and we've all moved on as people to different platforms.

It's all shiny nostalgia with no consideration of things like context collapse. It's nostalgia and I want community spaces that can think beyond the big town square idea.

With regards to Grok generating CSAM, I'd like to point out that all the image generation models are probably trained with CSAM in the first place. The kind of scraping that was done to generate them is indiscriminate and the companies that make them don't care, so god knows what's inside the training data. My recommendation still stands: stay tf away from them
