Allright. How about this #nightimewakeningfeverthoughts:
#AI has made the #www less visible, the same way electricity/lighting made the night sky less visible. It's still there, you just have to get to the #outerlimits (https://youtu.be/48jSLNKLf8w?t=131&is=BGHwfLS_VpTjTGn5)
We no longer se the stars due to severe pollution (enshittification)
Kthx. I'll see if I can get to sleep... again. 🤒

You, who say that that there is a Digital Garden --
-- I see, yes, the space, and the labor of your hands and mind.
But tell me, in this your garden-- what is it there that slowly and out of sight, grows?
Folks never in live broadcasting generally have no idea how incredibly chaotic it can be leading up to the last minutes and in some cases even last seconds before air in radio and television. Yet somehow at zero it always seems to sound and look fine.
@lauren I've gotten a teeny tiny taste of that with many live radio (and a few live TV) interviews. Even remotely, the level of chaos before the interview starts is impressive. And I've never yet had a host/producer/tech drop my interview, even on the tiniest radio stations. Truly impressive work. (I'm glad it's not my work, that sounds stressful!)
This is an actual post from the current president of the US, threatening to invade and annex the three NATO countries Canada, Greenland, and Iceland.

IMPORTANT PASSWORD SECURITY/PRIVACY ISSUE
----
For everyone:
If you are using the same password for Mastodon that you use anywhere else, CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD NOW.
A hacker is stealing accounts on Mastodon using something called “credential stuffing.” This means they use email/password combinations stolen from other sites.
This is a common hacking technique. But right now someone is targeting Mastodon accounts.
This is not a security flaw with Mastodon. Someone is just using it across Mastodon.
You can check if your email is in a data breach elsewhere:
Create a new strong password:
1. 12+ characters
2. Capital/lowercase letters
3. At least one special character
For admins:
The hacker is using the same unique user agent.
Go-http-client/1.1
We’re seeing a pattern of IPs, but they’re from varying ISPs. They’re also not changing the account emails.

@markwyner thanks for bringing this up. it's important
Animals fed and watered, stalls cleaned, completely exhausted from the work, the heat, and the bowling. I think an 8:30 bedtime is in the cards tonight.
This sounds intelligent, deploying community workers rather than cops. #Melbourne https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-09-08/frankston-community-connectors-linking-vulnerable-people-to-help/107117130
@thomasfuchs
What baffles me personally is the insane release rates that some of these vibe coded projects have. I use one that has sometimes 4 releases per day.
@jeroen at least it _has_ releases lol

@lauren The trick is being sure, amid all the chaos, about what's going to happen in those first few seconds.
@mrowe I've never seen an actual miss. But man, I've seen some that were close, like with the IFB going to dial tone in my ear less than a minute before air and other scary stuff. Not being able to hear the director or program feed on a live network interview is seriously scary. For my regular weekly live radio segments I'm hooked into master control about half hour before air these days.
On Labor Day let's remember the men & women who wake up before the sun and work through the heat, rain and more to put food on our tables. Their work deserves fair wages, safe working conditions, dignity and a voice on the job. This #LaborDay stand with farm workers. #WeFeedYou
I'm watching old Lethal Company and Among Us YouTube videos tonight because that's just where my head is right now.
@lauren You ought to see what happens backstage during a theatrical show.
I really enjoyed holding 20 actors, 15 crew, 200 props, 400 lights with 1000 light cues, and 300 sound cues together against the onslaught of Murphy's Law - and doing it eight times a week.
We had the luxury of being able to hold the house for a few minutes at the start, but once we heard "Cue one - Go!" there was no turning back.
(The closest I ever got to stopping a performance was when it appeared that we had a fire on stage. I was in full "get ready inform the audience, and put them into evacuate" mode when the ASM said that it was just a smoke machine that had gone nutz.)
@karlauerbach I can imagine! Hell, they even parodied the harried stage manager in "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol" (no coincidence that the songs were written by an award winning Broadway team). The thing about live network radio or TV is that you have absolutely no margin for error when you start, during breaks, or when you end. The show "clock" segmentation is absolutely the law, and when you have hundreds or more stations tied in all depending on to the second accuracy for their own breaks and spots and IDs and such, you better get it right!
