Reading AI-generated docs has given me a new appreciation for how incredibly good humans are at knowing what information is relevant, except when they are deliberately padding. All Claude-written docs read like a junior person padding the shit out of their resume.
AI generated design nobody wrote, approved by people who didn't read it, implemented in PRs the "author" didn't write or even read, approved by "reviewers" who never read it.
We're dead.
@tomjennings @donaldball @ai6yr It's also really hard to convey the background level of violence and unrest from that era. Things are worse now than they were perhaps 10 years ago, but still don't compare to the early 70's. Protests regularly escalated to riots (often instigated by police). Arson. Bomb scares and actual bombings were such a regular occurrence that I learned to recognize the distinctive siren on the bomb squad truck that would pass our apartment on the way to the range.

Desegregation - I remember the first two black girls, twin sisters, who showed up in middle school They were the only ones amongst hundreds of white kids. I graduated from a majority black high school.
I remember "No Coloreds" "Whites Only" signs on restrooms and restaurants, separate water fountains, a KKK leader we briefly lived next door to. Us white boys had it way easy, while all the rest struggled. Protests are what change things. Still.

The watchword of technocracy.
Block data centers. Take down surveillance cameras. Stop ICE.
I figured I would enjoy #DarkMatter on the rewatch, considering the nature of the show, but like I *really* enjoyed it.
And now I've watched the first episode of season 2, I'm very glad to have a continuation of the story. I started to read an online review by a critic who didn't seem to appreciate it much, but whatever. I guess I'm just predisposed to click with this type of plot. They'd have to make a *lot* of missteps in later episodes to sour me…
@jaredwhite thanks for reminding me to watch this show (enjoying it so far)!
@mauve I guess my goal would be how you get from "this are things I am aware of" to "linux does not have proper bluetooth headset support"... but I can live without that knowledge I didn't/don't mean to aggravate you and further.
I was hoping my initial slightly humorous reply would defuse the reply-guysm situation that you invited. But if not, cheers, I'll stop
@mariusor Oh I see, I didn't realize you were asking a specific question. I still think my statement stands becuase although it's a lot better now than it was years ago, it's still not as good as the proprietary OSs out of the box and seems to have had issues for a while. E.g. the person in the thread I linked got tired of trying to advocate for their fixes to be merged and started saying that if people want a bt headset they should avoid using Linux.
@liaizon they way to do this is the same way it got removed: whoever cares about it needs to file an issue, make their case in the issue (it does not have to be elaborate) and we see what comments they get. If there are no objections, and it is a small change (which it would be) it gets done. If there are objections, we need to resolve those eg by discussion in the regularly scheduled meeting. That’s what the TF is for.

I have followed the procedure and opened a new issue to re-add @silverpill's AP guide... https://github.com/swicg/activitypub.rocks/issues/94

Android folks: any recommendations for a no-nonsense RSS client with Feedly support? (If it makes any odds, I mostly use NetNewsWire on Apple gear.)
Edit: I didn’t realise Feedly had gone down the AI drain to the extent it has. So, er, any recs to swap that out would be good.
@craiggrannell I like Feedbin as a Feedly replacement. And the RSS reader I liked most on Android is FocusReader.

I haven't spoken about this at all, but today we sign paperwork for you new to us home.
I'm hoping it's the final home, our forever home. It's smaller, older, and has more style than the one we're in, and it sits on 4 acres of land.
Would anyone like to buy a house? Our current home goes on the market very soon. 😬
@fahrni Congrats. Enjoy the new home.
@Epic_Null @cR0w @hrbrmstr @jeff Oh I know what designed this.
My laptop fan started screaming the second this opened.
