@sebsauvage @charles En vrai on peut critiquer Google sur plein de trucs, et d’ailleurs y’a des tas d’autres choses qu’ils respectent pas à la lettre quand ça les arrange.
Mais se plaindre qu’un service de cartographie affiche dans chaque pays les noms officiels sur les cartes, bon. C’est un peu son boulot, c’est pas de leur faute si le nommage officiel national est stupide.

@whvholst @neil And we won't get Boxing Day/2nd day of Xmas this year, as they don't rollover to the next workday either.
Next year will be horrible, no Xmas or NY. i.e. 17th May 2027 for Whit Monday and then nothing until 17th April 2028 for Easter Monday.

@GeofCox Which is cause and which is effect (between "rejection of reason" and "being right wing") I don't know, but I went on a Myers-Briggs course once (other flavours of psychobabble are available) in which we were taught, more generally, that different people have different ways of making decisions, and only some people take the things that make up reason into account.
The role playing exercise that I remember was "your partner uses [such-and-such decision making model from the several on offer, only one of which was reason]: persuade them to do the washing up even though you both know perfectly well that it's your turn not theirs".
I'm suspicious of those kind of individual-psychology approaches (and indeed sceptical about psychology as a discipline in general).
But I think if you look at the coherence - or rather lack of it - of right-wing discourse you find it always depends on false or tenuous reason or evidence.

Just... terrible.
To think that his is what Putin has chosen for the people he is supposed to be the leader of (and for their innocent neighbours in Ukraine). People like him truly lack a lot mind functions that normal, civilized people have, starting with empathy.
