i learned that the reals were composed of equivalence classes of cauchy sequences (sequences where the absolute distance between consecutive entries can be said to converge). my prof vaughan jones (very kind man) was very particular that the sequences themselves cannot be said to converge to a value in any meaningful sense, hence the "cauchy sequence" approach.

Drummond goes on to pitch for the left trying to convince non-leftist and usually non-voting friends to vote TOP, and give our own vote to one of "Greens/TPM/Labour". Conveniently ignoring the fact that even TPM publicly acknowledge that a party vote for them in 2026 is wasted.
As for Labour, we're 2 months out from the start of early voting, and already it's crystal clear they have no meaningful left-of-centre policy to offer. A vote for Labour under Hipkins is a vote for the right.

Having ruled out TPM and Labour, that leaves only 3 options for those opposed to NatACT First (regardless of why). 1) Greens, 2) Opportunity, 3) A plague on all your houses.
I strongly agree with Drummond that for those who can't bring themselves to vote Green in 2026 (again, regardless of why), Opportunity are better than option 3. But as so many do, his piece ultimately leans into the idea that a vote for one is a loss to the other. As if they're competing for the same pool of votes.

@ablade You're welcome, I know at some point I need to start looking for a job, but I'm not wasting my time on LinkedIn and Indeed when all I'm gonna get is either no response or some excuse for a rejection, which is why I've been focusing on open source development and may eventually make something that I could actually make some money off of. The one thing though it will be something open source but where the hosting and certain features would make sense to be paid for on the official server, but for people who can selfhost then that's their choice, but yeah I'm glad you're getting somewhere.
