My eyes have been struggling with reading anything light on dark again lately so here's a gentle reminder for anybody who needs to hear it that a lack of light mode is an accessibility issue too
HAPPY MANJARO CERTIFICATE EXPIRATION DAY ‼️‼️‼️‼️🔥🔥🔥🔥
@piepants sometimes AI sucks all the oxygen out of the room
@decryption @piepants I believe that’s the point
Sometimes I visit BlueSky and... it's not that folk on there are bad in any profound way, but I always leave the place with a sort of unquantifiable misanthropy. Something about the place just makes me want to escape to the wilds. I don't know whether it's the omnipresent Americanism or the fact that all posts take the form of a critique on a critique on a critique, but the atmosphere is just crushingly claustrophobic. It seems like everybody is desperate to convince themselves that they're part of some intellectual priesthood. Just exhausting stuff.
Ascent (2012) (NASA commentary on a high quality slow motion film of a space shuttle launch)
I think today's sizzle might be a rare, AI/LLM free issue??
@decryption THANK FUCK FOR THAT!
i was talking about trying to use bluesky less often and @nixanadoo reminded me that she’s still active. big hugs to all of
my mastodon homies, sorry i’ve been away for so long
@cjmoorehead @PaulBusch @pluralistic I have zero background on these topics, but my intuition is that if it was easy to create and distribute such jailbreaking software it would already abound.
@Steve_Lindsay @cjmoorehead @PaulBusch they are routinely invented, by teenagers no less, but because they are a felony (also why they are primarily released by teenagers), they immediately disappear.
more specifically it's very obviously an attempt to dodge how finite-field diffie-hellman is still the best CSPRNG on the market
In the sponge construction, the input is applied to and the output is extracted from the same part of the state. This is in fact essential for the simplicity of the indifferentiability proof of the sponge construction
i'm no crypto genious but this sounds wrong
Solar crosses 3 TW threshold
@decryption should do it more often!
@piepants sometimes AI sucks all the oxygen out of the room
literally you look this shit up https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sponge_function
algorithms with finite internal state that take an input bit stream of any length and produce an output bit stream of any desired length.
ah so it's a turing machine. you're describing a turing machine
more specifically it's very obviously an attempt to dodge how finite-field diffie-hellman is still the best CSPRNG on the market
Trump’s name is toxic now.
“Republican Steve Hilton to California voters: It’s OK to vote for me even if you don’t like President Trump”
Meow #cat
It’s also discouraging because smolweb.org is an extremely sane and kind type of standard! Many other alternatives like Gemini <https://aartaka.me/gmi-a11y.html> and @h3rald ‘s SubWeb (mentioning for fairness) are not really concerned with Accessibility nor semantics. smolweb balances stuff really well… unless it’s AI that’s not kind in any imaginable way.
# Sponge functions?
they're trying so hard to make sponge functions a thing
literally you look this shit up https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sponge_function

For my upcoming trip to New York, there’s a queer women’s event that requires KN95 masks, medieval-themed market and crafting party, that I’d love to go to
