@Tutanota could you source your information ?
Dear Prospective PhD Applicant,
I very much appreciate you find my work inspiring, but I have absolutely no interest at all in supervising future theses on making toxic tech such as #genAI #LLMs Very Slightly Less Toxic (tm).
Personally for your future studies I’d encourage you to envision, seek out, study, and build technologies that have a role to play in just and sustainable futures. <3 🍀
Refreshing to see a supervisor being this direct upfront rather than letting students spend years on work that won't survive ethical scrutiny. What fields or problem spaces are you actually pointing students toward when they ask?

On NRT: Empty, entitled, arrogant, and exploitative - https://norightturn.blogspot.com/2026/08/empty-entitled-arrogant-and-exploitative.html
@norightturnnz I think there's maybe a 20% chance that elements in Labour are secretly angling to go into coalition with National.
On one hand, this would obviously be unacceptable for most Labour voters.
On the other hand… it's the logical conclusion of the last forty years of centrist strategy and it would go down well with the only people they seem to listen to: right-wing political commentators.
They could disprove this theory easily by presenting any policy that would be unpalatable to National. Even acknowledging that they will need to negotiate policy with the Greens would indicate that they're serious about a progressive coalition. But it's been a long time since they've done these things.
Obviously even the most right-wing people in Labour would prefer to govern alone. But I suspect there must now be a significant faction who see National as their preferred coalition partner. And who'd expect to be praised for it.

No, we're not renaming it. All map data in Organic Maps comes from the OpenStreetMap project.
@organicmaps love your app, been using it on Android and Linux since forever <3
Is Flock the only mass surveillance tool/network that people should be worried about? No. But it is an entry point for people from all walks of life to the fight against mass surveillance and I'm glad people are paying attention and taking action.

Listening to “Ballot Result” while washing the dinner dishes. Cozy.
Cried in frustration over my emails at 7:30 am on a Monday morning about stupid shit that's going to happen in orbit and my inability to do anything about it, and my apparent inability to even organize others to do anything about it. It's going to be great week, I can tell.
@sundogplanets You've done so much and it's just not right.
But if it helps you get through the day, just think what you'd feel like if you hadn't tried at all.
