No, I don't think the pattern of fedi's resistance to projects they see as bringing fascism to the fediverse is at all analogous to the racist harassment that Black people here face.
I do agree that the way that it's easy for people who unintentionally triggering the antibodies get scorched isn't necessarily good. (I don't consider a few rude comments on reddit as scorching, but there certainly have been other incidents with more abuse.). I even have a suggested approach for making progress! High-profile fedi influencers need to do a much better job about informing people who are thinking of developing for fedi about what's likely to trigger the antibodies.
With consent (a common source of triggering antibodies) I even put in the time to host a fediforum session and write up a pretty good document (if I do say so myself) outlining what needs to be done, with a goal of making it easier for people with a much bigger megaphone than me to let everybody know that hey, these are the norms here, it can be confusing -- and make sure to get feedback. I and o thers certainly used that to defuse several potential blowups (which you haven 't heard about becuase they didn't blow up). That said, fedi influencers are gonna do what they're gonna do, so for the most part I haven't noticed a lot of change (although kudos to the Mastodon project, which has made a lot of progress taking consent into account on new functionality).
Anyhow even though nobody wants to hear it, the same approach applies here. Fedi influencers need to talk about fedi's history of resistance to fasciam, and the strong opposition to "AI" in many corners here, and make sure people considering writing fedi software know they need to take this into account. And it's not always obvious, so step 1 is to ask!
Yes, this is going to make fedi development a lot more difficult and/or undesirable to many developers. But the resistance to fascism and "AI" isn't going to go away, so the alternative is antibodies flaring.

Whilst the describe things are different scales, not all reactions are the same strength. I'd probably call it a fediverse histamine system rather than an immune system, though those two systems are linked in the body they're still distinct. And as you well know I've a lot of experience with the histamine system going awry and triggering when it maybe shouldn't.

The irony of a guy getting mad that I'm not talking about US racism, in a thread where I explicitly said that US racism is worse.
My account is pretty much wall to wall criticism of US racism. I've said on here many times that the US is the most racist country on earth, and that number two is not particularly close.
But if you think that means that I won't point out that Afro-Latino Argentinians are still mad that the country ethnically cleansed its Black people, you're mistaken. I don't care about you. I care about the 1% of Afro-Latino Argentinians that are left, and I care about the white and Mestizo Argentinians that don't try and make excuses for trash racist behaviour.
Blanqueamiento and importing nazis was a harm that Argentinians did decades ago. But your cope and denial, and Argentinians defense of their most racist, trash, classless football stars and politicians, is happening today.
No one likes racists or genocide deniers. Instead of talking at me, try listening to an Afro-Latino professor in Argentina, who will make more time for your nonsense than I will.

Suppose we decide to make it a collective project and galvanize people around the idea of "Save fedi, fight bad internet bills!" There are enough of us here, many of us with broad networks outside fedi as well, that we could really make a difference.
What kinds of things could we do to make ourselve more effective?
Here's a few ideas to kick things off ...
How can fedi help fight bad internet bills? (3/N)
To start with, there are good instructions out there about how to contact legislators -- @fight's Bad Internet Bills in the US, I'm sure there are equivalent sites elsewhere.
Many people here already do that. In a poll I recently did, roughly 50% said they had contacted legislators at least once,, and while it's somethiung of a self-selecting example, I'd be willing to bet the percentage is higher here than on most social networks.
Then again, many don't -- often because they don't realize how critical it is, or know about the bill but aren't sure what to do. So ...
How can we leverage fedi technologies to make it easier for people here to find out what's going on and why it's so important for them to take action -- especially as these battles strech on over months and multiple actions are needed?
From a pro-social design perspective, how do we encourage people to take action, repeatedly, and share the information with their networks who aren't on fedi?

@PeterLudemann @jmorris Autos have a long, long history in society, and a complex one. AI and massive data centers are something new, and can't benefit from a long complicated social history. So they are much more effectively targeted by regulatory regimes. But really, the key is that the AI firms have pushed this stuff all as first party content. The AIs routinely refer to themselves as "I". They have blown any chance they had at 230 protections out the window. They just don't realize it yet, because politicians have largely been on their side. But when the masses go after the politicians on this, as they are now, the politicos know which side of their bread is buttered. Watch and see.
@lauren Tech companies like Uber have so far been able to run roughshod over regulation, with some exceptions, such as Japan. (It helped that most taxi companies were almost as evil and the regulation (such as medallions) was corrupt and anti-worker.) The telcos were able to re-coallesce and reinstate their oligopiles and evidently have learned how to lobby so as to avoid a second round of anti-trust.
So, the tech bros no doubt think that they can do the same thing again. We'll see. (People hate the telcos but nothing gets done about them)

@hipsterelectron it's so odd. I learned about this part of POSIX in college. The process has to fork() first which marks all virtual memory pages as invalid.
