I learned that today (at the café) and I just confirmed in on the net.
Here May is the month of the donkeys.
It's a centuries old tradition.
Apparently it's related to agriculture and importance they used to have on it.
(May 8 is the day specially dedicated to them.)
Oh you're a Christian?
Which poor person did you give all your money to?
Oh you didn't do that?
Jesus was pretty specific about that

Dear Fedi friends,
At some point I will re-emerge from my writing cave. I'm just putting together a deep dive into a topic and every day I get a new juicy lead. It never stops! (but incidentally 3 lifetimes ago I wanted to go to journalism school, so I'm finally living out this fantasy)
In other news, I'm happy to share that I will be on a panel at @publicspaces Conference on June 5th with @bjoernsta and @cubicgarden

Hope to see you there!
Seems like a good time. 😂
In 1975, just 50 years ago, one in three young women worldwide couldn't read. Today, nine in ten can. That’s the highest level in human history.

In designing a USB microphone or speaker or whatever... If we upgrade to use a proper microcontroller (whether an 8bit AVR core including a 16bit multiplier, or even our Digital Signal Processor) we can offer further audio processing via USB!
Whether its actually useful is another question...
We can offer to mix different audio "channels" together at different volumes. Adjusting volume is a multiply operation across all the sample of a channel. Mixing involving summing them.

We can offer, at the peripheral's choice of position in its audio-processing pipeline, to let the host pick between different sound sources. Could be useful for toggling hardware features!
I've already discussed how I'd implement (largely as a side-effect of getting digital audio to work) most of a "Feature Unit" in analogue circuitry. We can use simple formulas (incorporating delayed input) to implement low & high-pass filters, or we can use the Fast Fourier Transform.

@jorisgresnigt absoluut! Erg geïnteresseerd in wat jullie al doen en hoe we daar andere mee kunnen inspireren! Ik zal morgen even de agenda’s trekken!

I mean I don't think Trump wins even one election, let alone two, without triangulation - or rather the idea that running against Trump meant a conservative Dem Party 'center' could force a winger agenda because "you don't have a choice."
So I really do in fact hold the DNC responsible for throwing two winnable elections by running Dick Cheney in a skirt both times. And thus I don't care what Ken Martin thinks Ken Martin's problems are.
Polling says you suck at this Ken. Like 27% approval.
I’m a little bit of everything … all rolled into one papapam papapam 🎶

My university just emailed to say that, after several years of frozen salaries, faculty get to compete with one another for a share of the 3% merit increase this year, and let me tell ya folks, I am EXCITED
Still making less as a tenured full prof than I did before I left private industry for grad school in 2002 (adjusting for inflation), so next time someone tries to sell you a line about ivory tower types getting fat from reaping the rewards of high tuition, tell 'em to shove it
His stock is a sucker's bet. His AI is a joke; his satellites have competition on the horizon; rockets are government largesse; he's a terrible manager.

@catsalad I wonder if those people write their "opinions" by themselves. I don't know, I never read them, I don't respect them
