I had a solid living standard as a kid because my parents were both fortunate enough to work union jobs. (UAW and Michigan Teachers unions). A job on the shop floor paid enough to raise a family. Mom helped organized and bargained so that teachers had healthcare and solid wages.
As unions were systematically weakened by corporations, propaganda and government interference over the years the standard of living and job security in my hometown area fell. Profits and costs shot up.
Workers still have the power. They just convinced you we don’t. Happy Labor Day.

Fest steht, dass Sachsen-Anhalt völkischer, brutaler und für einen Großteil seiner Bewohner*innen ein schlechterer und gefährlicherer Ort wird.

All technical solutions (read: all technology) is subject to politics. To political power. To political interactions.
You cannot rely on purely technical approaches. You have to have social approaches, too. Like. Actual policy and procedure geared around social and political group dynamics.
Like. How will we react when the US Govt requires that @jerry to shut off infosec.exchange servers.
Or how we'll react when a specific Mastodon server is declared part of a terrorist infrastructure. Will federating with it mean any other Mastodon server is now part of the officially designated terrorist network (what then of people that federate with a server that federates with a server that is classified as part of a terrorist network. And so on)
You cannot carry the conceit that tech alone or a purely technical approach will save you.

Looks like, with the great help of @AnachronistJohn , @abs0 and @jaypatelani , I switched my NetBSD system from using binary packages via pkgin to the pkgsrc and building packages from source

For now, it works and I'm able to have some packages in my system, with the necessary compile-time options. And only one version of Python interpreter installed, not two 
. Also removed a lot of unnecessary packages, so the disk space usage went down from 18 Gb to 17 Gb

Damals gab es auch noch Ideen, Fix unabhängig als Transformationssprache zu standardisieren (siehe etwa die Metafix-Projektbeschreibung: https://lobid.org/project/metafacture-fix/).
