Apparently they need more results from #Australia EV owners.

DO NOT LICK THE RADIOACTIVE U-BAHN TILES
Does anyone know anything about https://www.traintickets.com/ ? Seems they are a #uk based worker #coop who retail train tickets. Given how enshittified uk rail websites are I've been looking for someone better.
Only gripe I have sofar is a lack of a via/avoid customisation. Doesnt open unconsentual booking.com links though which is a win.
@MiaMarkTwo @dachary My eldest was obsessed with concrete mixers (the trucks).
We had a weekly pictograph on the wall tracking how many concrete mixers we saw each day of the week. IIRC, Tuesday was a good day.
(We're a pretty nerdy family).
You may have noticed, by the way, that all of a sudden I’m working toward surfacing and making public every piece of writing I’ve sent as a subscriber-only dispatch since 2015 or so. You can find an index of these dispatches here – though as you can see, it’s very much a work in progress. Superthanks to @fishsauce for his indispensible help in rebuilding the archive.

(Why now, btw? It’s pretty straightforward: an unpleasant person who obsessively stalked me across the internet for years appears to have long last gone quiet. I’d set these dispatches to subscriber-only mostly to prevent that person from being able to access them, and it just doesn’t feel like that’s necessary any longer. What a lovely development.)
Je viens de me décider à me remettre à RSS ! C'est quoi votre top 3 ou top 5 de fils RSS ? (à part standblog.org ;-)
@nitot
Moi qui ne conçois pas le ouèb sans flux RSS, je me demande comment un internaute peut abandonner RSS.
In terms of “lines of code as productivity” I love to see a negative score 😊
@danirabbit best refactor is removing code
@davidgerard yeah, being a friendly face for big tech makes them bad guy PR, and I say that from being inside their sausage making machine many times and smelling the spoilage.

Alex Stamos (Facebook, need I say more)
their list of horrible humans goes on and on.
I try to write up what I can but it always seems like their self-promotion is so good nobody has grasped who they really are and why it's so bad for tech. John Stewart maybe did the best takedown yet.

I couldn't figure out this bug, so I asked Fable, and it was SO much more incredible than I expected.
- My bug report was wrong in a way I didn't notice
- There technically was no bug, but a flawed design caused unintended outcomes
- It verified that the design almost certainly caused me to fall into that trap, and proposed a simple, effective fix
Wow.
@marcoarment The replies to this are hilariously uninformed. You'd be better off giving up meat than not using AI if you care about the environment. It's funny how folks get a bee in their bonnet about a certain issue and just can't give it up.
@bomkatt
Thank you for you thread
And for making me aware that the new edition of Cyberselfish was released 🙏🏻
Ordered 😁
@realn2s i can't decide if knowing about & reading it earlier would have been useful or frustrating.
Useful, because she's very accurate about things, but also frustrating because it isn't stopping anyone
Training AI models on copyrighted works is "squarely what transformative use is," EFF’s Tori Noble told Reason - these are "general purpose tools" and "exactly the kind of creation that copyright is designed to foster.” https://reason.com/2026/09/04/doj-says-barring-ai-training-on-copyrighted-material-could-severely-hamper-tech-progress/
@eff No, that's bullshit. When did the EFF switch sides and start wielding specious arguments for the bad guys?
This isn't an argument for free speech. This is a defense of drowning out speech that comes from people.
