Ben voilà !
I seen a lotta sad movies, I have, I did, I done do that.
But my vote is "Midnight Cowboy".
I got, don't get me wrong, I got lots of candidates, and many honorable mentions.
But my actual choice is "Midnight Cowboy".
@GeePawHill It has some animated elements but "A Monster Calls" is the first one that came to mind for me.
@neil what I was originally going to say was, "oh dear, did someone let Vos out again?" but actually he's got a point. Arbitration is basically whatever parties agree it to be, and given that any kind of litigation or litigation-like process is basically just a massive throw of the dice *anyway*, it seems entirely plausible that parties to an arbitration would think "well, we can spend five million pounds on a conventional arbitration and take our chances on the arbitrator understanding the case properly and taking proper account of the evidence, or we can let a glorified Magic 8 Ball do it for a tiny fraction of that, and we still just take our chances".
@hedders Yep, which is still a more expensive version of my preference for "dispute resolution by best-of-three rock, paper, scissors, to be carried out by the parties' CEOs".

Bug turns one of the biggest fears about Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses into reality
The bug is fixed, but privacy concerns remain.
@GeePawHill Reading to the end can be a challenge for some of us. If it's off the first screen, it's below the fold and is it even really there? How would I know? Trees falling in uninhabited forests and all that.
@jmeowmeow Fuck, Jeff.
You're telling me to go slower, be more kind.
<extremely put-upon sigh>
Fine.
I will do my best.
Side note: kiss kiss, hug hug! <3
@dansup Is it possible to update server location in FediDB? My instance shows in Lisbon, Portugal but I am in Texas. I assume the location was from Cloudflare Proxy?
To see prose text at the client end of a hypertext protocol, you must* enable JavaScript, a more energy intensive and fragile means of processing text than the carrier.

We’re supposed to believe this was a ”bug”? 😂
Maybe in the eavesdropping definition of that word.

they put the arse into arstechnica by pretending this is a bug
#AoIR2026 I know it will be the last day, and all our brains are already in overdrive… But if you are still around and interested in the #Performativity of AI and #AIGovernance, come to our 11am panel in Drawing Room B.
Sarah McLachlan, "Angel".
@GeePawHill I've heard people call her "overplayed." But I've almost never skipped a track with her god-tier voice on it for 32 years and counting, so I think maybe those people could stand to get over themselves a bit.

My inexpert take on this is that these scumbags •are• actually concerned about whether they have the legal right to scrape what they’re already scraping, and we should press that case hard.
Battlestations?

Post ‘em if ya got em’!

@lealternative@mastodon.uno complimenti! Continuate così!
@GeePawHill thankfully, there's no rush. At least, not as long as he follows the only advice my dad gave my teen self on the topic: "don't make babies." (Nothing wrong with babies, mind you—I made one years later—but they do heavily impact one's life trajectory.)
@geeksam Yes, you're right.
Coding up a keyboard macro:
"Look, I think you're a good person with a good heart, and I feel sure you're going to accomplish amazing things in life.
I just need you to work a little more on the whole reading-comprehension thing."
