What are you sinking about?
@VeroniqueB99 Good career opportunities are the key to avoid world wars. Here's some helpful (satirical) advice from Germany, in case you missed it:

@Robinzz3 @3goodthings @DigitalCoup @meditation @economics_that_works I appreciate you posting this. I don't yet use the tech in this capacity (in large part due to my disability holding me back) but I notice that the "generative AI is 100.0% evil 100.0% of the time" types don't have much to say when I explain that I want a genAI coding assistant as prosthesis for the highly limiting effects of my AuDHD traits, which include things like difficulties with working memory.
@deutrino @3goodthings @DigitalCoup @meditation @economics_that_works
Thank you. “Prosthesis” is a powerful way of putting it.
Different disabilities create different barriers, and the useful tool will not look the same for everyone.
For me, AI reduces the physical barrier between thought and expression. For you, a coding assistant could reduce the barrier created by working memory and other cognitive limits.
That is exactly why blanket statements about AI trouble me.
The technology can be criticised without pretending that the people it helps are somehow imagining the benefit.

What if sideburns, but also dad?
@whatifbot you called?
Sorry for all the Monsterdon spam, everyone.
I keep thinking I should make another account for it, but then I'll go a few weeks and not participate so then I think "eh, it's not really necessary". And then I do one movie and hoooo boy, what you all put up with.
Here's a puppy photo of Finnegan to make up for it. (2015)
@hollie Haha, I just have a filter that hides all the Monsterdon posts! The only times I even realise it's on any more are when someone forgets to tag a post or misspells the tag 😂 So I think you’re good! I appreciate the puppy Finn post nonetheless, though!

Taught my son "Mr Hanky the Christmas Poo" song from Southpark back he was about three. Had the 'concerned' chat with the nursery workers about him singing it there. There was just enough of a smirk to reveal they actually found it hilarious. As did I.
@weslag Yes, that’s in the current TestFlight beta and I expect it to probably be out within a week!
@marcoarment amazing! thank you. finding unforgetful much more useful and less stressful than apple reminders.
@spacelizard oof lucky! I had 2 imperial kits of about 6-10 pieces that didn’t have that size.
I do quite like the fold-out-of-a-handle style for taking to the range, as long as you’ve got the handle you’ve got all the bits.
@jpm Yep, that was my thinking. I already had the Wera L-keys but the sets are too big and heavy to carry in my quiver, and I would inevitably lose a key sooner or later if I did take them to the range. That's why I got the Bondhus fold up hex key imperial + metric 2 pack. Seems to have all the sizes I might need but still small enough to pack in my quiver, and there's no way for me to lose keys in the grass.

Got roped into helping an elderly neighbour pick plums off multiple trees. Definitely didn't have time to do that, but it was really nice chatting with her, she let me pat her hairless cat (!!) and now I have probably 50 pounds of really tasty plums that I need to figure out what to do with (a very good problem to have).
All these recipes! Recipes, recipes, and more recipes 😡
Is nobody else seeing the obvious - get a Tom Stanton hypersonic trebuchet, and start taking down those cluttering satellites with high velocity stone fruit.
Remember that technology is a tool. Use it to help yourself.
So, Twitter 2...
I want to believe their intentions are as they say, but I Have Questions...
...starting with: why would anyone with truly good intentions be building YACS (Yet Another Centralized Service) in this day and age?
My top theory now is that they're using "record label" tactics: hire and deploy a bunch of truly sincerely well-meaning kids to write your promotional copy, interface with the potential customers, and build the initial service. (...while making sure the fine-print lets you enshittify it all later without let or hindrance.)
...but I'd love to be proved wrong.
If anyone knows anything about the people behind this, please feel free to pass it along.
@woozle resurrecting the software platform of vine would not return us to that cultural moment and neither should we aspire to that
also cool that they're employing the infinite bullshit generator to fact-check posts, fills me with confidence
You know, I never thought I'd be into Anime Titties, but here we are[1]:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAsuO9vK4Pc
[1] It's the name of a three piece rock band, and the video is just them playing in a house using a live performance interview format, but the interview questions are given by one of the band members in a costume. Also they don't seem to be about anime or titties from what I've seen. Oh, and they're on bandcamp:

@cstanhope Haha, I just discovered them yesterday with "Carpet Flavored Betty" and the video is a lot of clown face.
