The kid (12 years old) has asked me to buy them their own set of Allen keys. Not sure where I went right there.

This is all motivated by archery. Modern target archery bows are covered in socket head cap screws, mostly (but not quite exclusively) in imperial sizes.
The kid has seen the Bondhus folding sets that I bought to take to the range in my quiver, has heard me mutter too many times about the false economy of making do with cheap and crappy tools, and has been admiring the sets of Wera ball end L-keys that I use at home. Consequently they have become unsatisfied with the zip lock bag of increasingly rusty loose unlabelled Allen keys that came with our equipment that I put in their quiver just in case.
Whenever they're shooting I am always on hand with the good Allen keys in case they ever need them, but apparently that is not good enough. Well, OK, I'm happy to start their personal tool collection with some decent Allen keys of their own.
@spacelizard make sure you get a set with *checks sight* a 7/64
@jpm Mmm, yes, the sight pin attachment on my sight uses an unusual sized grub screw. Possibly 7/64. I need to check that.
@spacelizard I had to buy a surprisingly large kit to get that size for one screw on my bow. Only figured it out when 3/32 was too small but 1/8 was too big.
@jpm Checking the product page for the 9 piece imperial folding set I have tells me that I do have a 7/64. It's got 5/64, 3/32, 7/64, 1/8, 9/64, 5/32, 3/16, 7/32 & 1/4".
No doubt there will be some other size of screw somewhere on my bow that I don't have the right sized Allen key for, though.
@spacelizard oof lucky! I had 2 imperial kits of about 6-10 pieces that didn’t have that size.
I do quite like the fold-out-of-a-handle style for taking to the range, as long as you’ve got the handle you’ve got all the bits.
@jpm Yep, that was my thinking. I already had the Wera L-keys but the sets are too big and heavy to carry in my quiver, and I would inevitably lose a key sooner or later if I did take them to the range. That's why I got the Bondhus fold up hex key imperial + metric 2 pack. Seems to have all the sizes I might need but still small enough to pack in my quiver, and there's no way for me to lose keys in the grass.
